The Bull by Paulus Potter

A young bull stands in a Dutch meadow, almost life-size, with a cow, sheep and a farmer behind it. Paulus Potter painted it in 1647, at the age of 22. Every hair and fly is painted.

Napoleon took it to Paris in 1795 and ranked it among the greatest treasures of the Louvre. It came back to The Hague in 1815.
