How to play
You see a famous painting. Name it, then the next one appears, for as long as you like. Every painting has three questions, so you train three things at once:
- Title. Start typing and pick it from the list.
- Artist. Surnames work too: type “gogh” to find Vincent van Gogh.
- Century. When was it painted: the 1400s, the 1500s, and so on.
Fill in whatever you know, one field or all three, and press Check. Right answers lock in green; wrong ones are cleared so you can try again. You get 3 checks per painting.
Each right answer is a point. Get all three right and your streak grows; miss one and it starts again. Paintings come in random order and don’t repeat until you’ve seen them all.
Every work in Guess the Painting is in the public domain, and every picture comes from a museum or archive that releases it openly. After each painting you can read a short story about the painting and follow a link to the museum that holds it.
