Jane Avril Dancing by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

Jane Avril was one of the stars of the Moulin Rouge, famous for her wild, solo dancing. Toulouse-Lautrec was her friend and painted her many times, and she appeared on several of his posters.

He painted this on cardboard around 1892. Look at how she dances on her own, legs flying, while the people in the background ignore her.
