Both Members of This Club by George Bellows

A Black and a white boxer pound each other in a smoky ring, surrounded by a jeering crowd. Prizefighting was illegal in New York, so fights were held in private “clubs,” where the boxers were made “members” for the night.

George Bellows lived across the street from one and painted it in 1909.
